Unlike Alison, Scott being a soldier knows and understands greatly that losses will come. It does pain him to share this with her, however, the thought doesn’t make her pain any less tolerable. It’s an unfortunate part of life and with all that’s happened and the way the Greek Gods were, they preferred to keep their own rather than hand him off to his lover. At least, even if the two would not be seen again in this lifetime, they were together and a family along with young Kurt Waggoner.

So to him, her need of holding on tightly wasn’t exactly surprising. She’s lived in a far happier world than their team. Their Earths all had troubles while hers seemingly had the more happier endings than the planets from which the others had come from. They had grown to be darker due to the hardened men their universes had made them into. She’d grown in a slightly brighter world, Alison being the one that shone the brightest. So much so that she had lead these blind men, these soldiers from their war paths and into fighting battles to a war that no longer affected them personally.

Once again, he nods. Remaining relatively silent. This Scott was unlike the 616 version in the sense that he is a soldier to her leadership. “For all of eternity, they will be a family and happy. They had been offered that much.”

At least that was good, happiness for eternity was as much as anyone could want. Of course she felt bad about never seeing them again, but it was that old white lie mothers told to children when their pets passed away, ‘They’ve gone to a better place’. She just had to believe that for now, she trusted Scott, this one at least, with the world. And she doubted that he would lie to here, even if it was just to cheer her up.

Her hug, though it could be mistaken for a weird type of wrestling move seeing how much force, passion, she had put behind it, lessened. She was easing into this information, one bit at a time. Her anxiousness faded slightly, though her face was still a mixture of emotions. Tiredness, happiness, sadness. It was hard to differentiate by this point = whether this encounter was real or fake - whether she’d passed out on the sofa and her mind had concocted a memory to soothe her battered soul. Frankly, she would take either of them at this point. The feel of her lover’s arms around her was unmistakable, and even if it was all just an illusion, she wished it would last for forever more.

“At least you came back.” She replied, after a long pause. There was only warmness in her tone, affection poured from her as one of her hands rubbed lightly against his back as if to check that he was real.
