Alison has the ability to turn sound into light. With this ability she can levitate, create force fields, create hard light holograms, make blasts/lasers, shoot beams out of her eyes, use a sonic scream (which consists of her throwing all of the sound out of her body at once). She needs sound to use her abilities, but she can store that in her body no problem. She can do a fuckton of stuff with her powers, and she’s an amazing character on top of that.

Dazzler was first a struggling singer who didn’t want to be a hero. She wanted to sing and to be a star ever since she was a child. Yet, when she got older, dangerous situations kept getting thrown at her. She fought Doctor Doom, she fought Enchantress, she fought Absorbing Man, she fought Doctor Octopus. She’s fought a lot of people she wasn’t at all trained to fight, but she managed to come out of her battles with minor scrapes or consequences. This woman was the fucking herald of Galactus once. She even teamed up with Spider-Man, The Fantastic Four, The Inhumans, Spider-Woman + more, and eventually became a member of the X-Men. She outed herself as a mutant to the world when it was very dangerous to do so, and had to deal with a lot of bad consequences because of that. She almost got evicted, no one wanted to let her sing at their clubs anymore. It even got to a point where moments she got to sing, it was hard for her not to cry because it was so rare that she got to do the one thing she loved most in the world. 

Alison has dealt with a broken family. She’s dealt with an unstable sister trying to kill her and her friends. She’s dealt with her father being murdered. She dealt with her mother abandoning her at a young age to meet her later in life. The only person who ever had her back 100% was her goddamn grandmother. 

Alison is an awesome hero, and she’s one that has some very real qualities. A lot of people always get pissy about her first outfit, but the thing is…it wasn’t a super hero uniform. It was a stage costume, and she always got caught in these situations when she was wearing it. 

Dazzler is a person who follows her dreams no matter what. She puts other people before her, and she always tries to do the right thing. That’s what kind of hero she is.

Sorry for the rant, haha. 

Not to mention she’s a teacher (aerobics and fitness), a world class dancer, a professional skater, and does her own makeup, hair, and costumes.

And she fought in a rebellion on a war torn planet, where she had to learn weaponry and combat training. Had a motherfucking baby without any medical aid or direction. Had her kid taken away and her mind tampered with, but still soldiered on.

Got sent back to Earth before she was ready and was able to help defeat Magneto when she was emotionally unstable

Traveled to Europe, dusted off her hands, and got her career STARTED again and then simultaneously joined Excalibur so she could juggle both. Made better use of her hard light powers and holograms at this time

Went to San Fran and re-joined the X-Men AND became a high profile celebrity again, playing shows and doing mutant PR.

Got sent to Hell and became mind controlled, and though it was traumatizing, lifted herself back up and did her damn job.

Went back to the multiverse and lead a team, making a fuck ton of versatile uses of her powers and helped the X-Men in the AoA universe (yet again). STILL MAINTAINING HER MUSIC CAREER AT THIS TIME.

And now she’s a fucking agent of SHIELD.

She’s an exceptional person, mutant, team player and leader. Dazzler is fucking amazing.
