This was it - The moment where Emma was meant to give a scintillating speech on what it truly meant to be part of the X-Men family, on the fact family did not turn their backs on each other, and other widely disappointing clichés that could be found in Disney movies. Except Emma Frost knew very little about family and what she knew, too, proved vastly disappointing. And so instead she said - “Distant? Pray tell, Alison dear, is that the word you use to speak about that insane sister of yours who put humanity’s sake into Selene’s hands simply because she despises you and would try to end you any way she can? Do you really think Scott, Erik, Illyana and I - or even people such as Robert or Rachel - would ever fall so low as to be on Lois’s level?” Perhaps they’d been insane, perhaps the Phoenix had corrupted them not so long ago - But it had all been for good reasons. Repeating this enough made her actions strikingly bearable.
“Perhaps are you playing SHIELD’s watch dog for all the right reasons, darling, and perhaps will I never know whatever it is that possesses you to do what you are doing. However it hardly changes that fact you would go as low as kidnapping a scared teenage boy that only recently found out he was a mutant, purely because he had the misfortune to look for help in the people who could give it to him while disregarding the fact they are portrayed as wanted terrorists in the media. You were once in a very similar position to his, I am sure. Finding excuses, calling us all distant family, won’t make the consequences of your actions any easier.”And then Emma grinned a crisp smile before waving it all off. “Besides, I am certain you have broken quite a lot of your promises already, and Scott surely wouldn’t mind if you had a sudden change of heart and decided to leave with us.”
A harsh light flowed around Alison’s fist, an occasional spark would fly off every now and again, burning everything in it’s immediate part. Was she annoyed? Yes, yes she was. Her sister was a touchy subject, she loved her dearly, yet she had screwed up and let her morph into a villain who was hell bent on killing her. A deep glare set itself onto Alison’s face, as she imagined shoving Emma’s half plastic body onto a spear of light. "Don’t you dare even talk about Lois in that way,” Her tone was low and threatening, a single thread had snapped in the back of her mind, releasing the anger and rage that she hid between a killer voice and a sugary smile. “And I’ve seen people do it, I bet one in five X-men have done it–because that’s what we do, Kill, seek revenge, and screw up."
Her expression lost all resemblance to the normal sweet girl that Alison usually was, what took it’s place was a hardened warrior with severe sister problems. The light around her hands gathered, pulsing through the various spectrum’s–visible, infrared, ultraviolet, and pure white. She usually had great control over it, but once you snap the strings of a society pulled puppet, well, all hell breaks loose. "No, you won’t ever learn my reasons, because frankly you don’t deserve to know. You’re so self-centered about yourself that I’d hate to be the one that opens your eyes to everything.” It was obvious that Alison was trying to skip around the question, her speech was like a dance that was ingrained in her head. One that came with stardom and the unanswerable questions that were included in the flashing lights. Her popstar skills may have been rusty, but lying and dancing around questions were part of her grace–if you even considered it such a thing. She turned around, so that half her body was faced away from Emma. She didn’t want to show that she was breaking up on the inside, like a large spear had been shoved between the people she believed her family and her beliefs. The light around her hands dissipated slowly, as did her rage. “We both know that won’t-will never-happen, Emma. You don’t even deserve to call yourself X-men now.”
It did not take a genius to see this was all a vastly bad idea. Emma’s eyes trailed down, to the tip of Alison’s finger...
